36 Days of Type 2020

Every April a design challenge called, the 36 days of type occurs. It’s for hand lettering artists and illustrators all over the world to create a letter/number a day until they get through the entire alphabet, including the numbers. The idea is not to create a full and complete functioning typeface but instead to just have fun with type, spend a day exploring a different letter to improve and let loose on your creative skills.

The idea behind it was to create a uniformed set of letters/numbers that explored this old style lettering of black type lettering, of having thin/thick strokes and dramatic curls and ornamentation. Brining this old style into the modern day, filled with bright contrasting colors and a sense of unfiltered playfulness.
