I find myself playing with cut paper more and more. It’s a fun way to be creative and visually express an idea in a way that not a lot of people are doing yet. I find it another form of illustration, with physical paper.
Start with an idea
I always sketch out my ideas to make sure my composition looks good and holds up.
Vector it up
I then go onto vectoring the piece out in illustrator. This helps me visually see what the finished thing is going to look like so I know what I need to change before I spend too much time cutting it all out. It also helps me see colors and what colors work together.
